Are there any rare 2 euro coins? Every year, the countries of the eurozone issue commemorative 2 euro coins, with the exception of a few countries such as Austria, Cyprus or Ireland, which have more marginal issues.
Most of the coins have very little value, especially if they come from circulation.
Nevertheless, some coins gain enormous value over time.
There are not necessarily rational explanations for the increase in value of certain coins.
Regarding Monaco coins, since the start of the Covid-19 crisis, we have seen an exponential rise in the value of Monaco commemorative 2 euro coins.
Taking the example of the Monaco 2016, the latter went from around €300 in 2019 to almost €1,200 in 2021, almost 10x its original value (the coin is sold for €120 by Monaco)!
The neophyte will therefore ask himself the question: should I keep this coin that I just got when I went to get my bread? Here is the answer!

Also, let’s clarify for the neophyte I mentioned at the top of the article: there is very little chance that you will be able to find one of these coins at the supermarket checkout. In my opinion, the only two coins that can be found in circulation are the Finland 2004 and the Monaco 2012, the others being in a box and under capsule…
